About the Role Accounting Manager position to serve as the U.S. arm of the Finance function, reporting directly to the Head of Finance (Acting CFO). This is a critical role with strong future growth potential, ideal for someone on the path to becoming a Controller. Location: Stamford, CT Responsibilities Oversee the outsourced bookkeeper by reviewing journal entries and supporting the monthly accounting close. Ensure accurate booking of entries in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Experience booking journals and closing books is a must have. Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing performed by external public accountant, including reviewing payroll runs, adjustments, and ensuring compliance with tax and wage laws. Oversee and review benefit deductions, withholdings, and handle employee payroll inquiries and issue resolution. Maintain payroll records, ensure confidentiality, and support year-end reporting (e.g., W-2s) and audits. Prepare and manage client invoices for U.S. clients, coordinate invoice review with the leadership team in Switzerland, and provide support and monitoring of invoice receipts. Experience with progress billing or percent completion, or an understanding of these concepts, preferred. Act as the first point of contact for employee questions related to HSA, FSA, withholdings and general benefits matters, serving as an “HR call center” particularly when the Switzerland team is unavailable due to time zones. Uphold confidentiality regarding all company and client information and maintain the high standards of a growing global FinTech organization.
