Job Description

Job Summary

The Expressive Arts Therapist is responsible for clinical services provided to children, adolescents and/or adults, as assigned. The clinician is held accountable for all related clinical, administrative, and Quality and Compliance responsibilities.

Essential Responsibilities and Metrics

Provides Art Therapy, Counseling and Crisis Intervention to Clients and their Families
Provides high-quality service and maintains direct service hours per month of 60% for advanced clinicians and 56% for others
Creates IMCANS (IATP) Assessment
Completes IATP within 30 days of initial meeting with client, modifies and reviews as needed
Updates and records IATP in CIS as needed and ensures updates are completed prior to six months due date
Case management
Client centered consultation with community providers
Attendance and participation at clinical presentations
Use of supervision or consultation when required or needed
Provide clinical supervision to student intern
Provide timely completion of Level of Care Utilization System (LOCUS) (for adults)
Provide timely completion of Columbia and Ohio Scales (for children)
Maintain productivity goals as determined by supervisor
Be responsive to the business office regarding client fees/payments
Participate in Accreditation and Certification processes as directed

Art Therapy Responsibilities

Assess client needs, using drawing, music, painting, sculpting, theater, movement, or other expressive processes-based interventions.
Conduct creative or expressive art therapy sessions providing guided self-expression experiences to help participants feel an increased sense of wellbeing, connection, improved self-esteem, and empathy for others.
Establish therapeutic goals or objectives for creative or expressive art therapy sessions in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor or Director.
Request purchase or gather materials for in-studio for sessions.
If skilled, conduct workshops on techniques of using art in therapeutic relationships in Teaching Artists, interns, volunteers and staff or partner organizations.

Qualifications

Minimum requirement of a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology
1 year of post Master’s degree Mental Health experience required
Three professional references that reflect ability to perform clinical work
Demonstrated awareness of multiple cultures and cultural impact on the delivery of service is a must
