The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Aerospace Assembly Technician to join our team at PWR North America, a leading manufacturer of thermal management solutions for aerospace and defense applications. These could include a wide range of products from radiators, heat exchangers and cold plates. As an Aerospace and Defense Assembly Technician, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication, assembling, testing, and ensuring the quality of our thermal management components, which are vital in aircraft and land vehicle systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the production of cutting-edge aerospace and defense technology in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Assembly of Heat Exchangers: Perform precision assembly of heat exchanger components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
2. Component Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of parts and components to verify dimensions, tolerances, and quality requirements.
3. Testing and Troubleshooting: Assist in the setup and execution of functional tests and performance evaluations on assembled heat exchangers. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during testing.
4. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, test results, and any deviations encountered during the manufacturing process.
5. Quality Assurance: Adhere to strict quality control procedures to ensure all heat exchangers meet or exceed industry standards and customer specifications.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to resolve technical issues, implement process improvements, and optimize manufacturing efficiency.
7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Requirements:
1. Technical Skills: Proficient in mechanical assembly techniques, including reading engineering drawings, using hand tools, and operating assembly equipment.
2. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
3. Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve assembly issues effectively.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
5. Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
6. Safety Consciousness: Prior experience working in a safety-critical environment and a proactive approach to promoting workplace safety.
7. Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional vocational training or certifications in aerospace or defense related technology or manufacturing is preferred. Prior experience in highly technical assembly or a related field is advantageous.
