Position Summary


The Audit Manager will play a critical role in leading audit engagements, managing client relationships, and maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a proven track record of managing complex audit assignments across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement and Audit Leadership

  • Manage and supervise audit teams for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries, including financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, technology, and nonprofit sectors
  • Develop comprehensive audit strategies tailored to each client's unique business environment and risk profile
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of financial statement audits in compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Conduct high-level review of audit work papers, ensuring technical accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to professional standards

Team Development and Mentorship

  • Provide direct supervision and mentorship to senior associates and staff accountants
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support professional growth
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance technical skills and professional competencies
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment that promotes continuous learning

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications and relationship management
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through exceptional service and strategic insights
  • Communicate complex financial findings and recommendations to clients at all organizational levels
  • Identify and pursue additional service opportunities within existing client base

Technical Expertise and Quality Assurance

  • Stay current with evolving accounting standards, regulations, and industry-specific requirements
  • Perform complex accounting research and provide technical guidance to engagement teams
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control processes
  • Conduct internal quality review procedures to ensure compliance with firm and regulatory standards

Business Development

  • Contribute to the firm's growth strategy by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
  • Participate in marketing and networking activities
  • Assist in preparing proposals and presentations for potential clients

Qualifications

Required Credentials and Experience

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in the State of New Jersey
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 7-10 years of progressive audit experience in a public accounting firm
  • Extensive experience across multiple industries with a demonstrated ability to adapt to diverse client needs
  • Proven track record of managing complex audit engagements
