Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Executive Director or Chief Deputy Executive Director (Chief DED), the Deputy Executive Director (DED), Internal Operations, is a leader who plans, organizes, and directs the California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC) internal administrative support activities related to information technology, human resources, fiscal, budget, management analysis, and business services including developing and implementing administrative policies related to information technology systems and applications, human resources processes, budget and fiscal processes and applications, and all business service activities including procurement, contracting, and space management functions. The DED, Internal Operations, works closely with the Executive Director, Chief DED, and Executive Management team to develop and implement policies affecting all internal programs and activities, ensures high-quality services are delivered to all CPUC staff, and consults with Commissioners, management, and staff on administrative matters.
