CAD/ CAM Designer

Location:

Pay:

$18/hr + Based on Experience

Shift:

1st 8:00 - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD/CAM Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer-aided design and manufacturing processes, with the ability to translate customer specifications into detailed 2D and 3D models and CNC programs for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Siemens NX.
• Develop CAM programs for CNC machining using Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar software.
• Interpret customer blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce accurate designs and tool paths.
• Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and production teams to optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Assist in quoting and project planning by estimating machining time and materials.
• Conduct design reviews, identify potential production issues, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure all designs and programs meet quality and compliance standards.
• Maintain organized documentation for all designs and CNC files.

Required Skills

• Associate’s degree or certification in CAD/CAM, Mechanical Design, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in CAD/CAM design, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.).
• Knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tolerances.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
