Job Description

TEMPORARY POSITION (Mid-February to end of March)
  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Assists in consolidating data from Meditech into Epic. Collects important patient information from current patient medical record and transcribes that information into discrete fields or locations within Epic. Clinical data information will be clearly defined. Navigates the electronic medical record systems and other medical databases, reviewing medical records and abstracting medical record data related to specified project requirements.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: Completion of 11th grade in High School.
    • Experience: Basic computer skills.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A

    • Experience: One (1) year Data Entry experience. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems. Hospital or clinical experience.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Able to read, write and comprehend medical terminology. Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, accept responsibility, aptitude for accuracy and able to maintain confidentiality.
    • READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
    • SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
    • REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
