The Role

The Chief of Staff role requires a strategic, highly organized and execution-focused individual who will act as a force multiplier for the SVP, Engineering. You will act as a trusted advisor, problem solver, communicator, and central point of coordination for the organization. As a Chief of Staff, you drive operational excellence, align cross-functional initiatives and ensure the organization runs smoothly and efficiently. Youll bring clarity to complex challenges, foster collaboration, and help scale the impact of our technology organization.

This role reports to the SVP, Engineering for the STEPN Organization, and is a senior IC role.

This is a remote opportunity open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Serve as a cross-functional liaison within/outside of STEPN.

  • Ensure your SVP is thoroughly prepared for all external and internal meetings; manage necessary prep calls, ensure prep information is consolidated into a digestible format, and disseminate all materials to relevant parties.

  • Manage operating rhythms including staff meetings, leadership offsites, and communications.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions to improve velocity.

  • Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into organizational performance and KPIs.

  • Ensure the leadership team is aligned and informed on key priorities and decisions.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business or a related field preferred; a masters degree is a plus. 7+ years of experience in a business analyst or Chief of Staff role, preferably in the Technology or Telecommunications industries.

  • High emotional intelligence, self-awareness, adaptability, and the ability to handle ambiguity and navigate uncertainty.

  • Proven track record of driving execution in complex, matrixed organizations.

  • Strong executive presence, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong technical acumen; ability to engage with technology and product teams.

  • Advanced analytical skills, and attention to detail across a broad range of contexts and topics.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$149,084 - $198,779 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.

$156,539 - $208,718 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.

$163,993 - $218,657 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
