Job Description

Overview The Japanese Corporate Banking (JCB) Client Services Analyst’s primary responsibility is to assist JCB corporate banking clients in responding to their inquiries and requests, determining appropriate pricing of loans and deposits based on the market condition at the time of request and relationship status, and instructing middle and back office to book transactions once the rates are agreed upon. You will contribute to the growth of JCB and maximize overall client satisfaction. You may proactively reach out to clients in case of irregular activities at their account to resolve discrepancies and funding shortages to protect client funds by acting as the first line of defense protecting the bank’s capital, liquidity, and reputation. The JCB Client Services Analyst performs essential functions within the Client Services Department (CSD) of Japanese Corporate Banking (JCB), offering a wide range of services such as loans, deposits, investment, cash management and foreign exchange (FX). Primary Responsibilities Interact with JCB clients (approximately 80% of time) to monitor maturing loans, deposits and FX transactions, proactively addressing funding, saving and forex needs daily. Determine rates for clients based on relationship status and credit approval conditions; obtain funding rates from Global Market Division. Instruct back-office operations to book transactions once terms and conditions are agreed, ensuring credit capacity is sufficient and conditions are met. Close foreign exchange deals with major currencies for spot dates and set forward option contracts. Arrange standby domestic/Cayman/money market funding for various terms, ensuring quotes meet internal guidelines. Improve/maintain client satisfaction by responding promptly to inquiries and requests. Deepen awareness and mitigate fraud risk by investigating suspicious activities and wire transfers; contact clients to ensure proper authorization of funding and transfers. Monitor NSF data and coordinate with clients and relationship managers to prevent overdrafts. Monitor Work In Progress (WIP) to ensure accurate GL data. Meet with clients to brief on CSD services and support the relationship manager in marketing JCB’s full service resources. Inter-department coordination to address client requests and contribute to department management through trainings, projects, and data maintenance (approximately 20%). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. Minimum one (1) year of client services experience in Financial Services required. Prior experience in corporate banking, wealth management, or senior retail banking preferred. In-depth knowledge of corporate banking procedures, products and operations (Loans, Deposits, FX, full suite of transaction banking products, wire transfer, ACH); trade finance products (SBLC, LC). Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with internal partners. Proficiency in basic PC applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Basic knowledge of accounting principles. Compensation The typical base pay range for this role is $74,000 - $81,000 per year, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentives.
