Eaton’s IS VEH Power Connections division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Co-Op.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 per hour.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

The Continuous Improvement Co-Op supports deployment of ELSS and CIF for Eaton’s Power Connections Carol Stream manufacturing site and supports Cost Out projects.
Job duties support the creation and implementation of standards, input to CI strategy, and coordination of Kaizen Level 1 events such as RIE’s / BPI, additional to Kaizen Blitz that will lead to improvements in factory margins, product delivery performance, employee safety and reductions in product/process abnormality. |

Works through the leadership team to lead the development and implementation of the sites ELSS (VSM, 5S+, SW, Basic Problem Solving, SUR & TPM), actions, training and cross-functional activities including Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs).

In this function you will:

• Work closely with CI manager, operations team, and Quality team.
• Collect data and use it to create statistical process charts.
• Follow up on identified action items
• Updates CI Tracker management and cost out pipeline
• Participates in Eaton Lean System (ELSS) assessments and identify performance gaps. Works supporting the leadership team to prioritize improvement activities and close gaps.
• Provides Lean and Industrial Engineering support across the organization to drive short-term and long-term business improvements.
• Utilizes Lean tools to eliminate waste driving customer satisfaction, cost reduction
• Assure environmental, health and safety requirements are satisfied when the projects are implemented.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is currently in progress or recently completed from an accredited institution
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
• Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Carol Stream, IL
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (please don't round).

• Power BI
• Microsoft 365
• Auto Cad
• Solidwerks
• 1+ years of related experience
• Automotive industry experience, experience in core ELSS tools (VSM, 5S+, Standard Work,
