Our team of over 1,200 professionals are at work worldwide in over 30 offices. Together we are on a mission to rescue millions, protect half a billion, and make justice unstoppable. We are a global community that cares for one another. We believe that the way we work is as important as the results we achieve. We provide professional excellence with joy and celebration to all those we serve. The Need For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Director, Global Insights and Strategy. As International Justice Mission (IJM) builds a high-performing global marketing function, we are seeking a strategic and operational leader to serve as our Senior Director, Global Insights & Strategy. This role sits at the core of how we make decisions, scale strategy, and turn insight into impact. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this individual will lead the marketing function’s insight-to-activation discipline—including global segmentation, trend forecasting, journey mapping, and service blueprint development. In addition, this role will steward how we operate: building and maintaining best-in-class project and workflow management systems to accelerate our mission at scale. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker and collaborative operator who can translate complexity into clarity—ensuring that our marketing strategies are data-informed, audience-centered, and executable across global teams. They will be responsible for not just shaping strategies but enabling their implementation—driving alignment across departments and elevating our strategic execution globally. This position is located in the Washington, DC area. It reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US. Responsibilities Segmentation & Journey Strategy Lead the activation and continuous improvement of IJM’s global segmentation model. Build audience personas, donor journey maps, and service blueprints used across creative, digital, and fundraising teams. Partner with internal researchers and analysts to validate and refine segmentation using behavioral and engagement data. Strategic Marketing Planning & Framework Own the global marketing strategic planning calendar and annual/quarterly rhythms. Develop toolkits and templates for strategic planning, initiative mapping, and performance tracking. Facilitate alignment processes between global and regional teams to ensure strategic focus and resource clarity. Support the Chief Marketing Officer in decision-making frameworks and enterprise-level prioritization. Trend Analysis & Insight Activation Build an internal trend tracking and foresight function that monitors market, sector, and audience shifts. Package insights into accessible formats (briefs, dashboards, presentations) that guide decision-making. Lead synthesis of donor, brand, and campaign data into actionable insight narratives. Engage with external partners and tools to enrich internal knowledge of behavioral and cultural trends. Project & Workflow Management Establish and manage a project management discipline, including tooling (e.g., Asana, Airtable), sprint cadences, and intake protocols. Lead the planning and resourcing of key cross-functional initiatives across marketing, creative, digital, and product teams. Ensure accountability to timelines, milestones, and handoffs across distributed teams. Champion a culture of clarity, agility, and execution across global marketing. Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence Build trust and shared understanding with regional marketing leaders and functional heads. Serve as an operational right-hand to the CMO—bringing insight, planning, and structure to complex initiatives. Guide a small team of strategists and project managers with clarity and excellence. Communicate clearly with executive leaders and cross-functional peers to gain alignment and accelerate decisions. Qualifications: Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Behavioral Science, Strategy, or a related field; Master’s degree (MBA, MPA, or similar) preferred. 10+ years of experience in marketing strategy, customer insights, operations, or strategic planning roles.
