Overview

We are seeking a Director of Sales, Government Legal State & Local (S&L) to lead the sales strategy within the Government sector, focusing on State and Local markets. This pivotal leadership role drives new acquisition sales and growth of existing relationships. The Director will lead a team of high performing Regional Managers and their sales teams to achieve sales targets and expand market presence.

Location: Remote US-based candidates considered; preference for candidates residing in MN or DC.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Lead a team of high performing Regional Managers and their sales teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Team Vision & Strategy: Develop and articulate a strategic vision for the team aligned with company goals; refine sales strategies and strengthen sales processes.
  • Market Expansion: Expand Government sales within State and Local markets, emphasize new acquisition and cross-sell opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships.
  • Coaching and Development: Mentor Regional Managers to enhance leadership and sales effectiveness; build and implement coaching programs tailored to team needs.
  • Performance Management: Drive performance standards, monitor and evaluate team performance, and provide feedback and improvement strategies.
  • Recruitment: Advise on recruitment to attract and retain top sales talent; develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive market growth and revenue targets.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years in sales in the Government sector; 5+ years in sales leadership within the Government sector.
  • Strong coaching mindset and commitment to talent development; transparent and candid communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, and keeping the team informed on important matters.
  • Outstanding end-customer relationship skills with an outside-in focus.
  • Proficiency with sales processes and methodology.
  • Ability to lead teams through change and solve problems creatively in dynamic environments.

Compensation : In the United States, the target total cash compensation range for this role is $252,000 - $468,000, inclusive of base pay and target sales incentive. Pay is positioned based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Benefits include health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k) with match, vacation, sick and paid holidays, parental leave, and additional programs.
