We are looking for a dynamic Sales Associate to join our small, home-based business that sells dog and cat treats, along with a few other products, at farmers markets in the greater Edmonton area.

This role is specifically for a farmers market that occurs every other Saturday , with the possibility of adding Friday evenings and additional Saturdays if you’re interested in more hours.

We need someone to help us finish out the market season until Thanksgiving , with potential for additional shifts during the Christmas season . Please note that this is a contract position (independent contractor), not an employee role.

Duties:

• Pick up and drop off supplies from our storage and transport them to the market location
• Dress appropriately for outdoor weather (most markets are outside)
• Set up and tear down the sales booth
• Engage with customers to promote and sell products
• Use your product knowledge to help customers make informed choices
• Offer samples to customers
• Take photos of the booth and visiting animals for social media
• Provide excellent customer service before, during, and after the sale
• Operate a mobile point-of-sale system to handle transactions accurately
• Maintain a clean and organized sales area
• Upsell and cross-sell to increase sales revenue

Requirements:

• Must have a valid driver’s license and your own vehicle capable of transporting market supplies
• Comfortable around cats and dogs
• Own a smartphone with data to process debit/credit transactions
• Ability to read a paper map if needed
• Proficient in basic math for transactions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage warmly with customers
• Able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
• Basic technology skills to use Bluetooth, Google Email, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and social media

Pay starts at $15/hr + 10% commission paid out biweekly.
