Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will be accountable for the management of the Project Management Office (PMO) project execution activities for the Energy Industries division within ABB’s Process Automation business in the UK. You will be overall responsible for ensuring operations are executed in accordance with company procedures, relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards, contract specifications, quality standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments. The work model for the role is: hybrid from our St Neots, Aberdeen or Daresbury locations {#LI-hybrid} You will be mainly accountable for: Contributing to implementation of continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for the local project operation in alignment with Local Division and Business Area strategies Ensuring the local portfolio of projects is managed consistently, based on best practices and ABB Policies, including accurate forecasting of revenues, Profit & Loss and Operating Cash Flow. Leading the Project Management Office (PMO) team and ensuring that ABB policies, i.e. directives, instructions and guidelines are followed. Develops, and continuously improves respective processes, based on industry best practices. Ensuring that findings from lessons learned from project execution are incorporated in continuous improvement actions. Participating in Bid/Sales Phase, i.e. in estimating and resource planning. Overseeing project management activities at the portfolio level through project reviews with the management team and Project Managers. Taking an active role in resolving escalated issues and overseeing that project portfolio closure is performed properly, as per contracts entered with customers and on time. Overseeing the proper application of contract and claim management methods in accordance with ABB policies, and contractual agreements. Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders of the PMO (Controllers, Operations, Sales, Service). Serves as an escalation point for individual and systemic project management issues. • Collaborating and working with the HUB Project Execution Manager to support knowledge sharing and best practices across the HUB countries. Reinforcing and maintaining a culture of Health & Safety in all project operations. Leading the PMO team to establish and enforce an effective project management approach to achieve both project and organizational goals. Oversees competency assessments and ensure that the project staff us licensed and certified appropriately. Leading the team by example, including collaboration scopes with the wider IE/AZ/UK Cluster and North Europe HUB teams, leading temporary strategic projects and sales capture teams. Leading and coaching the Project Execution teams to achieve defined business objectives. Qualifications for the role Extensive relevant industry experience Proven leadership track record of leading large project teams and evidencing good collaboration. Strategic leadership skills, people developer and excellent collaboration skills. Understanding of relevant markets, customers, technology and competition. Customer-oriented & strategic mindset with passion to drive business results through project delivery.
