Job Description

Maintenance Engineer

Repair, maintain and inspect plumbing, physical structure, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, kitchen and laundry equipment, carpentry, electrician, power and hand tools in accordance with blue prints, manuals and building codes.

Skills Required:

• Experience as a maintenance engineer for a condo association
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair various building systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on building systems
• Respond to maintenance requests from residents in a timely manner
• Coordinate with contractors for larger repair projects
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
• Measure, cut and install pipe and tubing for water.
• Make and repair shelves, partitions and other wooden structures.
• Paint walls, floors, woodwork and fixtures, replace and repair brick, concrete and sheet rock walls and structures.
• Start devices to test their performance.
• Replace drive belts and filters on machines and equipment. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys and other parts.
• Repair and replace locks.
• Perform minor repairs to swimming pool and equipment.
• Adhere to all fire, safety and security procedures according to Club policies.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Technical School background preferred.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years general maintenance technician experience required. Hospitality background preferred.
