Duties

Duties include but are not limited to the following :

• Monitor the entire milling system to ensure optimal performance and finished product quality.
• Measure and record required parameters of the milling process.
• Monitor and document findings from metal detectors, magnets, and sifter tailings.
• Act as Milling Superintendent in their absence, as designated by leadership.
• Complete assigned cleaning and maintenance activities.
• Assist in packaging operations as needed.
• Proactively offer suggestions for facility and system improvements.
• Participate in workplace safety and food safety training.
• Comply with all food safety and workplace safety policies.
• Report any issues related to food safety, sanitation, or unusual security activity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the IAOM milling correspondence course.
• Successful completion of the KSU milling short course.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.

Skills and abilities

• Strong understanding of milling processes, equipment operation, and product quality standards
• Ability to monitor complex systems and accurately measure, record, and interpret process parameters
• Mechanical aptitude for identifying issues, performing routine maintenance, and supporting equipment cleaning
• Knowledge of food safety and workplace safety standards, with a commitment to compliance and reporting
• Detail-oriented with the ability to detect and respond to anomalies in the milling system, such as sifter tailings or metal detection findings
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to improving system performance and facility operations
• Capable of assuming leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Milling Superintendent
• Ability to assist with packaging operations and flex between job duties as operational needs require
• Effective communication skills for coordination with team members and supervisors
• Basic computer literacy, with preference for familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
• Willingness to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Comfortable working in environments with noise, dust, airborne particles, and mechanical hazards

Physical Demands

Physically able to perform all requirements including but not limited to:

• Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physically able to walk stairs and climb up/down bulk trailers during an eight-hour shift.
• Ability to perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

• Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
