Position Summary The Department of Geography ( ) at Indiana University, Bloomington, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of Associate or Full Professor, beginning in Fall 2023. We seek an expert in climate change with a focus on hydrologic extremes, committed to excellence in scholarship and teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research spans multiple spatial and temporal scales, examining how climate change influences storm timing and intensity, floods, droughts, and heat waves. Interdisciplinary collaborations are highly encouraged. Applicants should conduct research utilizing diverse methods, including field studies, remote sensing, laboratory experiments, and modeling. We value research, teaching, and service that intersect with issues of environmental justice, diversity, and inclusivity in climate science and geography. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong record of research productivity and external funding. We especially welcome applicants committed to mentoring, teaching, and outreach to diverse populations, including first-generation college students, low-income students, racial and ethnic minorities, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Contributions to the department’s curriculum and research portfolio that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion are highly valued. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment.
