Salary/Position Classification

• $15.00 - $32.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 10 hours per week

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefitted position. This position is to serve as a Flight Instructor - Airplane, providing flight instruction to students enrolled in aviation academic courses with flight labs at the University of North Dakota. A valid Flight Instructor Airplane Certificate and medical must be held to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide highest quality of flight training to students.
• Provide customer service.
• Follow the TCO requirements & standards that apply to each student.
• Teach and adhere to appropriate UND standardization manual.
• Maintain pilot proficiency.
• Display professionalism.
• Accurate record keeping.
• Adhere & promote the Safety Management System (SMS). The new employee training will start on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
  

Qualified candidates are required to appear in person for interviewing and pre-hire testing.

Required Competencies

• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work well with other in a close environment.
• Ability to work the a varying schedule.

Minimum Requirements

• Hold, or actively working on, a Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, or related field.
• Commercial Pilot Certificate single-engine & instrument Rating - Airplane.
• Certified Flight Instructor Certificate - single-engine.
• Valid FAA Medical Certificate.
• Experience as a student or flight instructor in a Part 141 training program.
• Eligible to work within the U.S.
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument Airplane.
• G1000 experience.
