Job Description

A key leadership role is available to oversee and direct the daily sales activities of an inside sales team within a prominent organization in the automotive aftermarket sector. This position involves coaching and mentoring a team of account executives (approximately 20), ensuring their efforts align with overarching business objectives. The Sales Team Manager will be responsible for driving consistent sales performance and the effective implementation of sales programs. Reporting to a senior sales leader, this role manages the day-to-day operations of the inside sales team while upholding high standards of customer service and support.

Performance Expectations:

  • Achieving monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Meeting daily team activity benchmarks for inbound and outbound communications.
  • Maintaining daily team efficiency metrics for communication duration.
  • Ensuring consistent adherence to communication protocols within the team.
  • Implementing sales strategies as directed by senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the development of sales strategies and the establishment of sales goals.
  • Managing the sales administration process, tracking key performance indicators, and utilizing data for informed decision-making. Monitoring daily team activity and efficiency benchmarks.
  • Recruiting, training, and leading the sales team to achieve established targets.
  • Effectively leading, planning, and coordinating team activities; utilizing metrics to monitor performance and manage workload.
  • Approving team member time records and managing time-off requests within the relevant system.
  • Delivering comprehensive training to new team members, including role-playing exercises to ensure effective delivery of sales approaches and handling common customer concerns.
  • Providing consistent coaching, development, and performance management to ensure quality and efficiency in the execution of selling processes, strategies, and initiatives aimed at sales growth and customer retention.
  • Collaborating with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and nurture customer relationships. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts to promote products and services.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as marketing and customer support to enhance the sales process and improve the overall customer experience.
  • Ensuring inside sales representatives are meeting key performance indicators.
  • Contributing to the development of sales strategies and the establishment of sales goals.
  • Developing standard operating procedures to enhance sales, maintain targets, support training, and facilitate inter-departmental collaboration.
  • Fostering a diverse, inclusive, and positive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Significant experience (5-10 years) in sales operations.
  • Several years (3+) of experience in sales management.
  • Proven experience in coaching, managing, and developing a sales team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong personal initiative and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Creativity, strategic thinking skills, and the ability to influence others.
  • Strong customer service and negotiation abilities.
  • Well-organized and a self-starter.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
