Minneapolis Glass Company in Brooklyn Park, MN is looking to hire a full-time Second Shift Supervisor to join the Glass Fabrication Team. This supervisory position is 4-10 hour days M-Thu and earns a competitive union salary of $1,580 per week . Our company is growing! and we recently expanded our operations to include a second shift that works a schedule of 1:00pm- 11:30pm Monday-Thursday . You will also supervise this team of machine operators plus loaders who work a modified shift to ensure product is gathered and loaded onto company trucks for the next day.

AN EVENING IN THE LIFE OF A SECOND SHIFT SUPERVISOR

As our Second Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for oversight and coordination of 8-10 loaders and machine operators . This includes clearly communicating expectations and holding each person accountable for results . You are the go-to person to handle employee relations and capacity issues as they arise and guide the team to complete work with high quality and on-time. This is a working supervisor role so you will actively direct, train, load trucks and operate various machines as needed.

As a supervisor, you will proactively engage in anticipating problems and finding solutions . This will require strong communication with first shift partners and championing continuous improvement as we continue to grow our capacity through the second shift.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience managing teams (5+ employees) in manufacturing environment.
• 3 years of manufacturing and machine operation experience.
• Knowledge of glass fabrication strongly preferred.
• Previous success working autonomously on a second or third shift.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and manage people effectively.
• Must be physically capable of performing the work, with ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted and stand for 10 hours a day.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Able to complete training on a first shift before assuming the second shift schedule and willingness to complete a 3-year Glassworker Apprenticeship program through the Painters and Allied Trade Union, if not already a glass journey person.

PAY RATE & WORK SCHEDULE

Supervisors are salaried positions paid weekly and compensated at the journey-level glass worker plus $1.00 shift differential. This pay is $1,580 per week . This supervisor position is full-time 4-days a week schedule of 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM Monday-Thursday but flexible beyond those core hours. Must be able to train on first shift – approximately 6:00AM – 2:30PM for the first 4-6 weeks.
