Job Description: The Solar Designer is a member of the engineering team responsible for complete project design and engineering, including: Solar system size and production assessments using Helioscope, PVSyst, or similar software. Utility interconnection applications with initial design schematics and equipment specifications. Full solar system design including layouts, electrical diagrams, equipment selection and specifications (disconnects, metering, reclosers, transformers, switchgear, data acquisition systems), wiring details, sizing, protection, grounding, DC and AC systems. Review and coordination of structural, racking, civil, topological, and survey layers. Assistance during construction with RFIs and equipment submittals. Review and coordination of existing assets for equipment updates, repairs, or repowering. Site visits as required. Requirements: 4-year degree, preferably in electrical engineering. At least 2 years of experience designing commercial and industrial solar arrays in the 1 MW to 10 MW range, including ground-mounted and roof-mounted systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD and NEC electrical code. Preference for 1 year of experience in storage design, PV Syst, Helioscope. Strong attention to detail.
