Summary Description
Supervises and directs overall administration, organization, and implementation of assigned electrical projects, within the High Voltage business unit, in a manner that optimizes customer satisfaction and project profitability. This includes design, layout, scheduling, material requisition, labor assignments and billing. Duties also include assigned employee career development and performance appraisals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential:
- Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M safety policies and procedures.
- Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company.
- Customer interface responsibilities during the proposal, execution, and close out stages of a project. This includes but is not limited to:
- Customer project walk through meetings
- Descope meetings
- Schedule/ progress meetings
- Issue resolution meetings
- Develop cost (labor/ material/ etc) and proposal to properly estimate a project based on the customers scope of work. And/ or provide necessary information to the HV team, or EC estimating team to develop the proposal.
- Presents completed proposals to customers.
- Provides accurate information to ensure proper project initialization. This includes quotes, whitesheet, etc.
- Primary point of contact for key customer accounts:
- Customer examples: Delmarva, Landis Gyr, FMC, Dupont
- Expand existing key customer relationships to drive incremental year over year growth
- Assists in general business development activities.
- Ensures customer satisfaction and solicits customer feedback from all project customers.
- Coordinates with HV Superintendents to ensure proper manpower is scheduled for each project.
- Coordinate/ lead team meetings to review/ communicate and build a team atmosphere:
- Schedule, manpower, proposals, active projects and expected completions
- Monthly safety meeting
- Monthly training
- Ensure the HV Superintendents proactively maintain the HV schedule. The schedule is a proactive tool and will be updated as projects change, weekly, at a minimum.
- Reviews / release all major equipment/ material orders via ProNav working with purchasing and the HV Superintendents.
- Assures that all permits, licenses, and inspections filings are completed by the responsible HV Superintendent.
- Performs annual performance reviews for all direct reports.
- Provides annual performance review input for all team members to the responsible one over manager.
- Establishes and maintains career development discussions within the team.
- Leads by example to drive increased teamwork, morale, and motivation of all team members.
- Works with HR/ Training to continuously expand and develop the HV utility apprentice program and industrial training program.
- Provide the following monthly financial updates/ inputs:
- Monthly forecast
- Monthly job projections
- Monthly gross margin
- Job cost reviews
- Coordinate with the operations manager to provide detailed input on budgeting for upcoming year.
- Ensure the team coordinates with the Administrative Assistant for monthly invoicing and customer specific financials.
- Authorizes all overtime hours.
- Coordinate with HV Superintendents to ensure all change orders are documented and submitted in a timely manner.
- Assist with Accounts receivable, when requested.
- Conducts timely and accurate performance appraisals on all assigned personnel.
Job Requirements
Skills/Education:
- Bachelors and/or Associates degree, or equivalent years experience.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC and BAS systems, Card Access and/or CCTV systems, a plus.
- Experience within Smart Building Solutions or security industry, a plus.
- Highly motivated and driven individual with a strong willingness to learn within a technical industry.
- A proven track record of success within sales strongly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
- Excellent organizational skills with good attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Excellent human relations and communication skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location/office.
- Must maintain a valid drivers license and good driving record.
- Ability and willingness to travel regionally to customer locations as needed.

Physical Requirements:
- Working a minimum of 40 hours/week.
- Sitting 6 to 8 hours/day.
- Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs. from floor to above shoulders.
- Repetitive use of hands for writing, typing, data entry, and filing.
- Vision adequate for computer use and reading.
- Hearing adequate for phone use.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, protected-toe boots, and appropriate gloves for the task. Other equipment on an "as needed" basis may include fall protection, dust mask, respirator, hearing protection, etc.
- Ability to visit construction jobsites including walking on uneven terrain, occasionally climbing, stooping, squatting and exposure to temperature extremes and the elements to perform site surveys and collect data for project design.
- Special hazards may include exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards while performing site visits.
- Personal protective equipment includes use of hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves and hearing protection.
