TITLE: Supply Chain Manager

LOCATION: Kent, WA

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Direct Hire

PAY RANGE: 120-150K base plus benefits

The ideal candidate is responsible for developing and implementing a supply strategy that delivers the lowest total cost, reduces inventory, and maximizes customer satisfaction through world class service.

Job Summary: The Supply Chain Manager will oversee all aspects of inbound and outbound component and finished good flows, including production planning, purchasing, receiving, storing, and shipping. This role ensures inventory levels are maintained accurately, and cash is being used efficiently to support external and internal customer demand. Responsible for KPIs to the Operations Director and Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities and Knowledge Areas:

Inventory Management:

  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices through the lens of Toyota style Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain component accuracy.
  • Direct the picking team activities to pick and present materials for work orders to internal customer demand.

Purchasing, Receiving, & Inspection:

  • Ensure all incoming materials and products are purchased according to demand plans and ERP signals.
  • Escalate component or information abnormalities to the responsible teams and inform internal customers, then work to resolve the issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate between Incoming Inspection, Receiving, and Purchasing teams on disposition and management of non-conforming components and finished goods.
  • Coordinate through the Purchasing team with suppliers and vendors to integrate cost down activities into the regular cadence of business.
  • Ensure department processes are active and evolving to recognize and drive improvements through problem solving.

Shipping:

  • Manage the shipping process, ensuring that personnel have the proper materials and information to meet our customer expectations on time.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant shipping regulations and company policies.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and train factory staff.
  • Build a team for continuous improvement, who are coachable, and find and eliminate waste in their work as regular practice.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Support inventory reduction efforts by performing digital and physical processes which remove excess and overstock items.
  • Provide regular updates to management on inventory status and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Highlight improvement opportunities inside the supply chain which have follow on benefits for other Ops departments.
  • Collaborate with peer managers and create winning improvement opportunities for all involved.
