Are you an experienced UAS Pilot with an eye for detail or a background in test, evaluation or product development? Infravision is seeking a UAS Test Pilot to lead flight operations delivering Infravisions test and evaluation program in Austin, Texas.

Working on cutting edge systems developed by Infravision and our trusted partners, the UAS Test Pilot joins the wider test and evaluation team focused on delivering high quality and reliable products to our customers, globally.

What youll do

Flight Test and Evaluation

  • Lead the planning and execution of flight test and evaluation activities with Infravisions new and existing fleet of heavy lift unmanned aircraft delivering safe, compliant and high quality test data.
  • Participate in the development of test programs and plans to ensure Infravisions products, systems and processes are able to rapidly develop and are ready for field deployment to our global teams and customers.

Aviation Compliance

  • Lead operational compliance and regulatory activities associated test activities ranging from experimental flight operations with prototype systems to certification like operations across Infravisions operating regions.
  • Participate in maintaining best practice and contributing to the advancement of unmanned aircraft operations working with customers, delivery partners and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure flight operations and activities are completed in accordance with Infravisions aviation safety and quality policies and procedures.

Product Development and Support

  • Develop and maintain technical and operational knowledge on the range of Infravision products, acting as a subject matter expert to build and transfer knowledge from development into field operations.
  • Participate in product development forums and processes, listening and capturing customer requirements to inform product developments with a focus on flight operations.
  • Develop product documentation, training materials and processes enable safe and high quality field operations.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Holds a current Part 61 Pilot Licence (or equivalent) and/ or has passed an FAA Airman Knowledge Exam (or equivalent) within the last 24 months.
  • Holds a current Part 107 license.
  • Has a minimum 5 years of proven UAS flight experience.
  • Has worked with small teams delivering high quality outcomes in challenging environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineering team members, partners, customers and Infravision operators.

Highly Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Has a qualification or has completed a course, with execution experience delivering Operational Test and Evaluation (or similar) programs.
  • Experience operating in outdoor, industrial environments with a preference for powerline construction, civil engineering or similar industries.
  • Has operated multirotor or rotary UAS above 55lbs MTOW.
  • Has conducted complex or BVLOS UAS operations.
  • Knowledge of robotic or uncrewed aircraft systems, including hardware, software, and flight controllers.

  • Have a valid passport, no travel restrictions, and both willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally across Infravisions operating regions including USA, Canada, India and Australia.
