As our first dedicated researcher, you'll shape our research practice from the ground up while working on cutting-edge AI and automation tools that are transforming how businesses grow. If you're excited about wearing multiple hats, establishing research frameworks from scratch, and making a significant impact on product direction, this role is for you. Questions We're Asking & Exploring How do we balance depth of user insight with the speed needed to iterate and learn quickly? How do we tell impactful stories from research that resonate with stakeholders? How do we make research a core part of the product development process? How can we build a flexible and scalable research strategy that grows with the company? What You'll Do Establish Research Foundations: Define UX research strategy and best practices to understand users across the organization. End-to-End Research: Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative studies, including interviews, usability tests, and surveys. Generate Strategic Insights: Translate findings into clear, actionable insights for product and design decisions. Collaborate & Influence: Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and leadership to ensure research impacts outcomes. Build a Research Culture: Advocate for user-centric thinking and enable non-researchers to conduct lightweight research confidently. What You'll Bring 7+ years of UX research experience, preferably in a fast-paced B2B environment Proficiency in various research methods—qualitative and quantitative—and ability to select appropriate approaches Experience with research tools like UserTesting, Maze, Qualtrics, etc. Ability to translate research findings into concrete product improvements Experience thriving in cross-functional teams with product, design, data, and leadership Comfort with ambiguity and adaptability in a dynamic environment Life @ Clay Based out of our central office on 19th Street in Manhattan's Flatiron District, we value in-person collaboration but also offer flexibility to work from home when needed.
