Description

We are looking to employ a knowledgeable and experienced Budtender to assist customers in selecting suitable cannabis products. The responsibilities of the Budtender include greeting and welcoming customers, informing the manager of customer complaints and operational issues, and sharing firsthand experiences of cannabis products to address customer concerns. You should also be able to answer customers' questions regarding the different strains of cannabis, their medicinal uses, and methods of consumption.

To be successful as a Budtender, you should keep abreast of the latest developments in cannabis laws to maintain legal compliance. Ultimately, an outstanding Budtender should be able to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills by ensuring that customers are well-informed and satisfied with their purchases.

Responsibilities

Budtender Duties by Category:

Operations
•Follow all company policies and procedures.
•Handle customer complaints with professionalism and calmness.
•Adhere to loss prevention and security policies.
•Assist with online orders and curbside operations, if applicable.
•Report any perceived inventory loss to direct managers.
•Support the execution of all opening and closing checklists.
•Compliance
•Operate in full compliance with state regulations and CRA standards.
•Sales
•Stay informed on store goals, KPIs, and individual performance metrics.
•Collaborate with upper management to support the success of promotions, loyalty
•programs, and app downloads.
•Help maintain visual merchandising standards as directed by the company.
•Utilize the budtender playbook to execute effective sales practices.
•Communicate with leadership to stay updated on sales metrics and incentives.
•Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the product range, including strains, edibles,
•concentrates, and accessories.
•Educate customers on product benefits, proper usage, and potential effects to aid in
•informed decision-making.
•Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and empathetically.
•Conduct sales transactions accurately, including cash handling.
•Encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews on public platforms to boost the
•company's reputation and attract new clients.

Inventory
•Stay informed on regulatory updates.
•Ensure only compliant, non-expired products are sold to maintain high quality and safety
•for customers.
•Replenish inventory on shelves as needed to avoid empty spaces.
•Keep inventory in designated areas to prevent loss and maintain accurate stock levels.
•Alert leadership when products need restocking.
•Weigh and scan flower accurately to maintain precise inventory records.

Staff
•Report any employee issues to the General Manager.
•Participate in creating a warm, respectful, and friendly atmosphere in line with Gatsby
•brand values.
•Minimize interpersonal conflicts to foster a positive work environment and enhance team
•morale.

Accounting
•Request cash change in advance to avoid shortages at the register.
•Submit tips according to company policy.
•Report any cash discrepancies to leadership.
•Accurately record all time punches using the company's clock-in system.

Additional Expectations
•Assist with setting up company events at the store level.
•Complete tasks assigned by management as needed.
•Cross-train and support inventory and receptionist roles as required.
•Maintain cleanliness during downtime to uphold a professional customer experience.

Qualifications

•High school diploma or GED.
•Proven experience working as a Budtender or insales.
•Cannabis knowledge including flower, concentrates and edibles.
•Sound knowledge of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits.
•The ability to multitask.
•Outstanding organizational skills.
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Effective communication skills.
