Job Title: Network Support Technician (Cisco) Location: Killeen, TX Job Type: Contract (2 weeks), option to work preferred hours/work part-time *Possible contract to hire opportunity Job Summary: Responsible for maintenance of computers, peripherals, related equipment, and software applications Key Responsibilities: Maintains an enterprise level wide area network (WAN) and Local area networks (LAN); to include installation and maintenance of switches, routers, and network monitoring tools. Uses and supports current versions of Windows server, DHCP, DNS, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and other emerging technologies.Installs, troubleshoots, upgrades and repairs networked systems and peripherals. Including cabling and port configurations. Installs, upgrades, repairs, and maintains servers, computers, printers, phones, video surveillance and access control equipment and systems. Installs, troubleshoots, upgrades and repairs VoIP and PBX phone systems. Installs, troubleshoots, upgrades, repairs, and maintains enterprise video surveillance systems. Installs, troubleshoots, upgrades, repairs, maintains, and operates Access Control Systems; to include: Microsoft SQL Server, proximity card readers, and Dual Door Controllers (DDC) for all employees and tenants. Researches products and solutions, initiates, and tracks equipment purchases, for department technology needs. Maintains close working relationship with all City staff, vendors, and contract employees. Maintains a pro-active stance on network and telephone maintenance, spotting and correcting minor problems before they become major problems. Ability to use critical thinking to resolve complex, undocumented issues as they arise. Responds to user inquiries in person and remote, establishes service levels and adjusts workflow to ensure work orders are closed. Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in the attendance policies and procedures; ensures all behaviors comply Personnel Rules and Regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent; and Three (3) years experience with the operation of LAN's, WAN's, network and operations to include the installation and maintenance of current versions of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office and emerging technologies. Any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must pass a satisfactory standard criminal background check upon hire. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Proficient with configuring, installing, upgrading, repairing, and troubleshooting enterprise level switches and routers. Working knowledge of LANs, WANs, and network monitoring systems. Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals. Working knowledge of Microsoft server and desktop operating systems. Working knowledge of PBX, SIP and VoIP telephony equipment. Working knowledge of AMAG Symmetry door lock system. Skill in installing, upgrading, repairing, and troubleshooting computer systems and related equipment. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish good working relationships. Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
