Sentara is currently hiring a Patient Care Technician to work at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on the Med/Surg 4 West Unit. 4 West is a 24-bed inpatient nursing unit providing quality care to adult medical/surgical telemetry patients who are acutely ill or injured, specializing in post-operative surgical patient care. Clinical conditions include general surgery, Davinci Robotic surgery, urology, gynecology surgeries, vascular surgeries, mastectomies, soft tissue traumas, and various medical conditions such as diverticulitis, kidney injury, sepsis, pneumonia, asthma, and diabetes. The position is full-time night shift (7pm to 7am). Duties include supporting admission/discharge process, changing, bathing, ambulating patients, drawing blood, foley catheter care, and meeting patient needs under nurse supervision. Minimum requirements include one year of prior healthcare experience preferred, American Health Associate BLS Certification within 90 days of hire, and a high school diploma or equivalent plus certification or experience as a CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, or related clinical program or work experience.
