Responsible for organizing and providing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation, and job descriptions. Contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and meets the requirements of the Joint Commission if applicable and/or other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies.

  • BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

  • Current license with the appropriate State Board of Nursing
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from date of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 year from date of hire
  • Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) certification or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year from the date of hire. (excluding Superior , Moose Lake, Ada and Sandstone locations )
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 year from date of hire. (excluding Superior , Moose Lake, and Sandstone locations ) 

EH Moose Lake and Sandstone Location:

  • Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year from the date of hire only required to obtain once. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 year from date of hire

EH Moose Lake Location (13290 – Nursing Birthplace):

  • Basic Fetal Monitoring course within 6 months Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course through AWHONN within 1 year . Neonatal Resuscitation Program ( NRP ) certification within 1 year

EH Ada Location:

  • Comprehensive Advanced Life Support (CALS) certification or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year from the date of hire only required to obtain once

EH Graceville Location:

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year
